The Grammy, Dove and Stellar award-winning group will perform alongside the 2008 MusiCares® Person of the Year Aretha Franklin, Mary J. Blige, The Clark Sisters, The Madison Bumblees and Trin-I-Tee 5:7.

Other artists slated to appear during the 50th Annual GRAMMY® Awards include Carrie Underwood, the Foo Fighters and Rhianna.

The music industry’s premier event will take place live at the STAPLES Center in Los Angeles and will be broadcast in HDTV and 5.1 Surround Sound on the CBS Television Network from 8 – 11:30 p.m. (ET/PT). The show also will be supported on radio via Westwood One worldwide and XM Satellite Radio, and covered online at GRAMMY.com. Additional performers, presenters and special segments will be announced soon.

Israel and New Breed earned two GRAMMY® Award nominations this year for their critically-acclaimed and best-selling album A Deeper Level. In addition to the album being nominated for Best Pop/Contemporary Gospel Album, the song “With Long Life” (featuring T-Bone) is nominated for Best Gospel Performance. Last year, the group received a GRAMMY® Award for Traditional Gospel Album of the Year for Alive In South Africa.

In addition to their GRAMMY® nods, Israel & New Breed have also been honored with multiple Dove, Stellar and Soul Train Awards and have two RIAA gold-certifications for their CDs Alive In South Africa and Live From Another Level. Israel and New Breed was founded by Israel Houghton and his wife Meleasa and is composed of noted musicians and singers who serve in their respective churches and together serve the Church at large.
